Unravel is part of an ongoing installation and performance experience that invites participants to reflect on the slow and temporal qualities of contemplation and memory. In this iteration, titled (Hanging by a Thread) participants may watch, learn about or participate with the artist in the children’s yarn-game Cat’s Cradle while a performer also vocalizes a dialogue between childhood and the present moment. Cat’s Cradle is a traditional string game that is played with a partner and involves making a series of shapes in a series of motions. During the evening the game will be taught to anyone who would like to learn.

Jane Brucker is participating in an exhibition for Getty's Pacific Standard Time (PST ART) initiative, Art & Science Collide, at California Institute of Technology’s Pasadena Campus curated by Dr. Claudia Bohn-Spector. The exhibition, titled Crossing Over: Art and Science at Caltech, 1920–2020, features a site-specific installation of Brucker's work, alongside objects Brucker selected from the Caltech Archives & Special Collections.

Brucker’s installation is located in the small historic library of Gates Annex, built in 1927. For this space, Brucker created six softly lit installations that sit within the library’s bookshelves. Above the library’s entrance doors, Brucker’s Time Poem plays her poetry via an LED screen reminiscent of a small clock tower. Her installation creates a dialogue with Caltech’s collection of rare, illustrated books in physics and astronomy, including first edition works by Copernicus, Galileo, and Kepler. Time Stream is augmented by photographs, pulp science fiction books, and the works of other contemporary artists.
